Frequently Asked Questions

The Ontario Ball Hockey Federation (OBHF) is recognized as Ontario’s Provincial Sport Organization (PSO). It is sanctioned under the Canadian Ball Hockey Association (CBHA) and the International Street Ball Hockey Federation (ISBHF) and an associate member of Hockey Canada. The OBHF welcomes and promotes ball hockey at all ages for men, woman, boys and girls. Players have the opportunities to compete in the Provincial Championships, the CBHA National Championships and even represent Team Canada at the ISBHF World Championships.

Below are some of the frequently asked questions sent to the OBHF:

What do I do if I would like to start a ball hockey league?

You are required to fill out an application form and send it to the OBHF office. Click here for the application. 

How can I play ball hockey in my area?

Click on Member Leagues from the menu to find a list of all the OBHF sanctioned ball hockey leagues in Ontario. You can contact the league directly to register. 

How can I become a certified referee with the OBHF?

The OBHF hosts clinics two times a year, in the spring and in the winter. The OBHF will post the clinics on our website for returning and new referees to register for. Click on Referee Zone from the Homepage to register for a referee clinic.

How can I coach and/or be a trainer for a team?

Although currently it is not yet mandatory for these roles, the OBHF recognizes up to date Hockey Canada Coaching Program Certifications and Hockey Canada’s Training Program.
